“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” Numbers 14:1-10
Two of the spies, Joshua and Caleb, did not go along with the majority and tried to convince the Israelites that they could conquer the land despite the negativity of the people around them. We miss out on our blessings because we defeat ourselves with negative self-talk, doubt, and unbelief. Obedience is an action word that requires us to do something. When God commands or instructs us to do something we must trust Him and obey.
Don’t let fear and a bunch of “what ifs” stop you from walking into “The Promised Land” because “God did not give you the spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7). What God has for you is for you and no person on earth or any demon in hell can take it away from you. However, we can freely give it over to the enemy due to our lack of trust in God and in His word. We must learn to stand on the promises of God, trust in His Holy word, and lean not to our own understanding according to Proverbs 3:5-6.
Don’t go along with the in crowd. Don’t be fooled by popular belief. Don’t follow the norms of society. We must live in this world but we are not of this world. Dare to be different! Dare to stand up and stand alone for what you believe in, for what’s right, just, true, perfect, lovely, and of a good report (Philippians 4:8).
If doing what’s right, obeying God, means you have to stand alone or go by yourself, then Stand! Go! It’s better to obey God and be by yourself then to disobey and forsake God for the sake of having company. “Obedience is better than sacrifice” according to 1 Samuel 15:22 and Acts 17:11. You might be by yourself but you won’t be alone because God will be right there with you! “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5). If you want to grow in God you must obey God.
God Bless You!
I enjoy movies with a meaning and a message, sitting in the park overlooking the water, and eating my favorite ice cream Heavenly Hash.
