“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” (Romans 12:6-8 NKJV)
I had to accept Jesus Christ into my life first and allow Him to reveal to me who I am and who He created me to be. The more I learn about Jesus and find out who He is, the more I’m finding out who I am and, most importantly, who I am in Him. Jesus has the key to unlock the mysteries in me. Only He knows where my treasures are because He hid them inside me.
The word buried by definition means to put in the ground and cover with earth; to cause to sink in; to cover in order to conceal from sight; to put out of one’s mind. We usually associate it with funerals, death, or dying. Well, the same way we bury the dead, we bury our dreams and our ideas; but, most importantly and unfortunately, we bury our gifts, our talents, our uniqueness, and that thing that puts us in a class all by ourselves. We bury the very special thing about us that makes us who we are, that piece of us that has always been misunderstood, mishandled, and un-mistakenly misused. Do you remember the story about the master, his three servants, and the five talents?
Ask the Lord to reveal to you the gifts, skills, talents, and abilities (the hidden treasures) that He’s placed inside of you. When He does, offer them to the Lord, lay them at His feet (at the altar), and seek His guidance on how to invest, increase, and multiply your talents. Let your desire be to reach your fullest potential that God has for you in Christ Jesus.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” (John 15:1-2 KJV)
I enjoy movies with a meaning and a message, sitting in the park overlooking the water, and eating my favorite ice cream Heavenly Hash.
